HOW TO MAKE PROXY GRASS USING V-RAY FOR SKETCHUP


Hi everyone! Here’s a quick tutorial on how to make proxy grass using V-ray for SketchUp. Follow the step-by-step procedures below.

STEP 1: Using the SketchUp program, make a detailed grass or download any available 3D grass in 3DWarehouse. Here’s a sample of 3D grass made in SketchUp.

STEP 2: Using the ‘Paint Bucket’ tool, apply any available color in ‘Material Dialogue Box’. Use only one color for the entire model. 

STEP 3: Under the V-Ray Materials list, Change the diffuse texture of the grass

STEP 4: Select the grouped model grass> Click the ‘Export V-Ray proxy’ icon> Type the ‘File name’> Click ‘Save’

STEP 5: Run a test render

STEP 6: Make a large ground plane. Apply any available vegetation texture from ‘Material dialogue box’.

STEP 7: Copy the proxy grass. Fill the ground with proxy grass.

STEP 8: Add 3D entourage to your scene> click the V-Ray render icon
