SKETCHUP POST-PRODUCTION PART 3 (Selected Works from 2020)

For over the past years in making 3-D visualization art, the post-production has become an integral part of my workflow. Here in this blogpost, I would like to share to you the different post-production techniques that I was able to develop and applied in some of my 3-D visualization works. Using the different combination of software such as Photoshop and Picasa, I was able to come up with ten different post-production techniques that will surely help improve your render quality. These post-production techniques varies depending on the complexity of the scene based on the quality of raw render image which requires additional enhancement in terms of textures, materials, entourage, background, lighting etc… in order to achieve photorealism.

POST PRODUCTION 1: ENTOURAGE AND MATERIAL TEXTURE
Adding entourage and adjusting the material texture are one of the very basic techniques in post-production that enable us to fill the emptiness and lack of vibrancy of the scene.

POST PRODUCTION 6: MATTE SHADOW
Matte shadow technique is a proper way to integrate 3-D model into the HDRI image. I usually use this technique in visualizing 3-D cars, but it can also apply in architectural rendering.

POST PRODUCTION 7: AERIAL PERSPECTIVE
One of the interesting parts in creating 3-D visualization in aerial perspective is the unique way of capturing the structures (houses and buildings) that are completely blend-in with the surrounding landscape. This kind of rendering technique will help the viewers and clients to immediately determine the scale and volume or mass distribution in relation to the model or structure. This particular post-production technique requires a complete attention to details in depicting the landscape environment with the 3-D models.

POST PRODUCTION 8: DEPTH OF FIELD
The process of applying Z-Depth in the raw rendered image as an alternative to achieve such Depth of Field (DoF) appearance is very common practice among the 3-D artist. Basically, it lets you to render 3D scenes without depth of field blur, and then add depth of field as part of post-processing.

POST PRODUCTION 9: TV LIGHTING
Technically, T.V. lighting effects can be visually produced using different rendering software such as V-Ray with the proper application of materials such as emissive lights. As an alternative, T.V. lighting can also be rendered in Photoshop, through post-processing.
